Fairfax, VA ― The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) today announced that they will offer complimentary registration for the 2006 Symposium and Congress to members affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  

“The impact of the hurricanes on practices in parts of Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas has been substantial and we want to do what we can to ease the financial burden on those affected by the storms,” said ASCRS President Roger F. Steinert, MD.

“The devastation visited upon communities, practices, and peoples’ lives has been substantial and the rebuilding process will take some time,” said ASOA President Morgan L. Taylor III, COE, CPA, adding, “Helping administrators and practice staff re-establish contacts and continue their professional development will aide that process.”
