San Francisco, April 15 – The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation today awarded a $5,000 grant to the Ophthalmic Photographers’ Society (OPS) during the ASCRS annual scientific symposium.
Howard Fine, ASCRS Foundation Board Chairman noted that the grant was to be used to support the society in its role of developing the skills of ophthalmic photographers whose work increases the level of care to patients and helps to advance the science of ophthalmology.
“We appreciate the support of the ASCRS Foundation in advancing the educational goals of the OPS,” said Paul R. Montague, OPS president.
The main objectives of the Ophthalmic Photographers' Society are to provide primary and continuing education in the field of ophthalmic photography, to set and maintain standards for the profession through a multi-level certification program, and to promote scientific advancement in the technology.
