Manus C. Kraff Lecture on Science and Medicine

Manus C. Kraff, MD

ASCRS established this lecture as a forum for expanding and enriching appreciation of fields of science and medicine outside of ophthalmology. The lecture was named for Dr. Manus C. Kraff to recognize and honor him for his many contributions to the ASCRS Symposium; these contributions have broadened, enlivened, and elevated the quality of the symposium. In addition, Dr. Kraff’s curiosity and constant striving for innovation have led him to investigate aspects of medicine and science beyond those in his chosen field.

Michael MerzenichThe 2008 Manus C. Kraff Lecture on Science and Medicine features Dr. Michael Merzenich, a world-renowned authority and developer of brain-science-based training programs that apply the principles of brain plasticity to substantially improve language, reading, and cognitive abilities.
