On April 29, 2007, the ASCRS Foundation hosted its first-ever educational symposium during the ASCRS Annual Meeting in San Diego. Titled The Fundamentals of a Presbyopia-Correcting IOLs Practice, the symposium addressed issues ranging from the “opportunity” created by premium lenses to pre-operative testing and the staffing changes needed to effectively counsel and treat those patients interested in the new lens options.

Seven presenters spoke to a full house of nearly 1,400 attendees and took live questions through a real-time audience response system.

The foundation will distribute an interactive copy of the symposium on DVD to all U.S. ophthalmologists in June 2007.
